Falling in Love with Lovage
This lesser-known herb will find its way into your heart ... and your kitchen.
Melt butter in sauté pan over medium heat. Add diced onions and sauté about five minutes until slightly translucent. Stirring constantly, sprinkle lovage and flour over onions, cooking one minute. Add broth in small amounts, stirring until smooth after each addition.
Turn heat to low. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Add milk. Slowly bring back up to serving temperature, but do not allow to boil. Season to taste. Garnish with additional lovage leaves. Serves 4.
