Ingredients
- 2 lbs. navy beans, soaked overnight
- 3 quarts water
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tsp. dried mustard
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- ½ cup catsup
- ¼ tsp. pepper
- ½ tsp. salt
- ½ cup full flavor molasses
- 1 tsp. Worstershire sauce
- ½ tsp. liquid smoke
- 3 tsp. sweet pickle relish
Instructions
Soak beans overnight in a large bowl, rinse beans then boil in fresh water until the skins crack. Pour the bean water into a bowl; put 2 cups water back in with beans and remaining ingredients and bake for 5-7 hours. Add from the remaining liquid as needed to keep the beans from drying as they bake.
